Another Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) finished successfully, with Andreas Kamilaris, member of CYENS Centre of Excellence visiting Wageningen University & Research in March!

During his visit, Andreas came into touch with the research facilities of the NPEC.nl, getting to know the capabilities and potential of the NPEC infrastructure for high-throughput crop phenotyping (HTP). CTO and Program Manager of NPEC, Dr. Rick van de Zedde hosted Andreas and organized a guest lecture at which Andreas presented the HTP-related research happening at CYENS Centre of Excellence.

Important meetings took place with Dr. Bernardo Maestrini (understanding how climate change is affecting crops in Cyprus by means of multispectral satellite imagery), Dr. Carlos Camino (establishing protocols for HTP of wheat via drones) and Mr. Manya Afonso (use of AI models and synthetic data to detect and classify crops).
